Ahhh yes, fellow tea lover. When stressed out or upset, always a cup of tea soothes the spirit like nothing else. There must be something extraordinarily soulful about it. Coffee just doesn’t do it. A cup of tea? Always. π

Hi Mel, i am Kevin from Singapore. Have always been a tea lover but now I am trying to do it seriously. Haha… May I know where should I get those tea equiptments? Like infuser, pots and cool mugs. I tried going amazon but the shipping fees are stupid. I actually travel quite a bit, so it will be nice if you can give me some place to go in states or uk. I can even bring back some for you. Cheers!

Hi Kevin, thanks for dropping a note – and for the offer to get me tea from near and far! You can try Peony Tea Solutions (www.peonyts.com) for getting some starter Chinese tea equipment (delivered right to your doorstep). There’s also the Lupicia store at Great World City. I find sometimes, even department stores have some pretty cool teaware. Hope this helps!

Hi Sally, great coffee ain’t too bad either heh. Taste is a very personal thing…so just stay open to trying different types of tea – love can’t be forced π There’s a school of thought that people who love great coffee are partial to the stronger-tasting teas such as Lapsang Souchong or pu’erh so why not give those a go one day? Have fun π

Hi my gf’s birthday is really soon and she loves tea. I was thinking of getting her some really cute tea infusers. Do you know any shop in sg that sells things like that?
mel
Oct 19, 2014 @ 00:48:05
I think departmental stores will be your best bet for this! Robinsons or Isetan π But you could try Lupicia (Great World), TWG or Betjeman and Barton (Raffles City Basement) as well.

Hi Mel, im so glad found dedicated tea blogger before moving to SG as a big fan of tea. I’m living in Sydney where teawares like Wedgwood, Royal Copenhagen, Royal Dulton are selling at discounted price. Is it easy to find those teawares in Singapore? Otherwise I will buy some more before packing. D-2months to go to SG hehe.
Thanks

Hi Mel, thank you for your richly flavoured posts. I have enjoyed reading about your experience in preparing and enjoying tea. I’m just wondering if you are also interested in tyring matcha. I’m trying to introduce powdered matcha to Singaporean homes, this matcha is very similar to the one used in Starbucks’ green tea latte.
My question is, will you purchase it if it is sold online for a price of $50 per 100g can, including delivery? I’m trying to gauge the level of interest among tea lovers. It will be great if you could share with me your opinion!
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my message! Have a great day π

Hi Henry, I think matcha is awesome but I don’t usually drink it because it keeps me awake ;P Hrmmm price point wise I honestly don’t really have an opinion at this point. I think with matcha, there also needs to be education in the preparation as well, it’s hard to get that lovely froth. All the best in this endeavour!

Do you know where I can find fresh loose green tea leaves (not the dried kind)? or is it possible to find the plant in Singapore? I am searching for the green leaves for a photo shoot.

I have to do a project for my university that involves exporting tea to Singapore. Part of the project deals with interviewing experts in the field of tea in Singapore and I was wondering if I could send you a few interview questions about this matter?

Chance upon your blog while reading up on tea. Comparatively harder to find tea lovers than coffee crazy Singapore. Always interested in blended tea. Any tea blending courses out there that you would recommend?
